The first column in this checklist has been completed to illustrate how the daily benefits, the day benefits begin, elimination periods, benefits periods, maximum benefit period (all confinements), waiting periods for preexisting conditions and the policy cost should be set forth for a long-term care policy offered by a fictitious insurer, the ABC Insurance Company.
The 2 additional columns can be used to compare long-term care policies presented to you by insurance companies or their representatives.
Remember, the illustrated values for the ABC Insurance Company merely demonstrate how the checklist should be completed. The values illustrated do not represent the recommendations of the Georgia Insurance Department. Each applicant for long-term care must determine his own needs and ability to purchase the benefits selected.
